Rich & Rare Restaurant

Rich & Rare Restaurant is a steak and seafood venue in West Village, West End, built around premium produce and a relaxed approach to dining. The kitchen draws on Queensland seafood and farm produce, alongside beef from Australian producers and Japanese wagyu, with dry-aged cuts given a prominent place on the menu. The restaurant describes its style as premium fare without pretension, pairing the food with wine, whisky and cocktails.

The grill is the main event, with options ranging from a 200g eye fillet and grain-fed scotch fillets to dry-aged sirloin, rib on the bone, T-bone and tomahawk cuts. There is also a dedicated selection of Australian wagyu and A5 Japanese wagyu, including eye fillet, striploin, rib cap and rump cuts. For a broader taste of the kitchen, the Rich & Rare Experience combines wagyu tataki, Hokkaido scallops, wagyu tartare, several steaks and sides, while the Ship & Shore option pairs steak with half a live lobster.

Seafood is not treated as an afterthought. The menu includes oysters, caviar, king prawns, scallops, octopus, crab pasta and live lobster, alongside lighter choices such as dry-aged kingfish crudo and wagyu tataki. Sides range from wagyu-fat potatoes and bone marrow mash to green beans, fries and truffle mac and cheese, with desserts including Valrhona chocolate delice, New York cheesecake and strawberry and rhubarb crostata.

The setting is presented as casually sophisticated rather than formal, making it suitable for a West End lunch or dinner, a steak-focused occasion, or a shared meal built around larger cuts. Groups can book the private 10-seater room or arrange use of the whole venue, and banquet menus are available for tables of two or more. A kids menu is available on request, giving families an option alongside the restaurant’s more indulgent steak-and-seafood offering.
