Longwang brings modern Asian dining to Brisbane CBD, with a menu shaped around contemporary takes on traditional Asian flavours and an emphasis on seafood. The selection ranges from smaller dishes such as crab spring rolls, seared scallops, duck pancakes and XO prawn toast to more substantial plates including massaman curry of wagyu beef brisket, tempura barramundi, toothfish and stir-fried wagyu beef. There are also vegetarian choices, such as the Longwang mushroom pad and panang curry of fried cauliflower.

The restaurant occupies a narrow, purpose-built space between two high-rise buildings, extending across two levels of what was previously a laneway. Its layout includes tables for two, cosy booths, an open-air bar, balcony areas, a private dining room and a Chefs Table. That gives the venue several settings, from a more intimate meal to a larger celebration or shared banquet. A kids menu is available on request, making it a practical option for families as well as couples and groups.

The name Longwang refers to the Dragon King of the Sea in Chinese mythology. The restaurant describes itself as the first Asian bar and restaurant in Queensland from seafood-focused restaurateur Michael Tassis, with a design intended to make the most of the unusually narrow site. With lunch specials available daily from 11am to 4pm, a broader à la carte menu and banquet options, Longwang suits diners looking for a polished CBD meal with bold flavours, a strong seafood offering and an unusual multi-level setting.
