Why it's worth checking out
Tingalpa Hotel is a restaurant and bar in Wynnum, Brisbane, offering a broad menu designed to suit different appetites. The selection covers pub-style favourites, steaks, schnitzels, burgers, wraps, pizza, pasta, salads, seafood and curries, with vegan and vegetarian choices given their own section. It is a practical option when a group cannot agree on one style of food, with choices ranging from a premium Wagyu rib fillet and house-made chicken schnitzel to vegan burgers, curry and pizza.
The steak and schnitzel section is a major draw. Guests can choose from cuts including a 400g Wagyu rib fillet, pure Wagyu rump, grass-fed eye fillet, rump, rib fillet and porterhouse, while the chicken schnitzel can be upgraded to a giant size or finished with toppings such as parmigiana, Hawaiian, buffalo, bacon and avocado, or prawn and avocado. Other substantial options include Tennessee BBQ beef short rib, Humpty Doo barramundi, crispy-skin salmon, Sri Lankan chicken curry and Smokey BBQ pork ribs.
There is plenty beyond the larger meals. Starters and sides include satay chicken skewers, pork and vegetable dumplings, crispy cauliflower bites, salt and pepper calamari and chicken wings with a choice of sauces. The pizza range includes meat-heavy, vegetarian and vegan options, while desserts include waffles, sticky date pudding, apple crumble and crème brûlée. The menu also caters for children, who can choose from options including nuggets, cheeseburgers, battered fish and kids steak, with chips or mashed potato and salad or vegetables.
The venue describes its dining experience as family-friendly and provides a kids playground, along with a complimentary Kid’s Zone Activity Bag with every kids’ meal. That makes it particularly suited to families, while the wide menu also works for casual group meals and catch-ups. Restaurant lunch is available daily from 11:30am to 2:30pm, with dinner from 5pm to 8:30pm Sunday to Thursday and until 9pm on Friday and Saturday. Takeaway and online reservations are also offered, and weekday lunch specials and a Tuesday rump-night promotion feature on the venue’s website.
