Pompette

Pompette brings a French-inspired champagne bar and restaurant to The Star Brisbane in the CBD, pairing a polished dining room with a more relaxed outdoor terrace. The setting is built around celebration, with shimmering lights, bar seating and Brisbane River and South Bank Parklands views from the terrace. It has enough atmosphere for a date or a special meal, while the option to dine at the bar or enjoy the terrace gives it a little flexibility beyond a formal restaurant setting.

The menu takes cues from classic French cooking while allowing room for contemporary touches. Named dishes include caviar, escargot, Canard à l’orange, live rock lobster Thermidor and steak au poivre, while the lunch offering includes steak frites, steak baguette and barramundi et frites. There are also oysters with champagne mignonette, ratatouille tartelette, French-style salami with house pickles and a chef’s dessert of the day. For a more structured group meal, the Ooh-La-La banquet is available for a minimum of two guests, with optional additions including foie gras, crab Caesar salad and raw beef tartelette.

Champagne is central to the experience. Pompette lists more than 150 wines, including European varieties, alongside signature cocktails such as La Vie en Rose and Le Pompette. Oysters can be paired with drinks at the champagne bar, while the terrace offers an alfresco option. The website also lists lunch seven days a week from 11am to 4pm, plus a weekday Hugo Lunch featuring a Hugo Spritz and steak frites. Kids’ menus are available on request, making the venue workable for families as well as couples, groups and solo diners.

For functions, Pompette has three private dining rooms: Cuvée for up to 14 guests, Brut for up to nine and Reserve for up to nine. One room has its own private entrance. The terrace and main dining room can also be used for events, with the main dining area or a full restaurant takeover accommodating up to 100 guests; functions across the venue are advertised for groups of 10 to 160. That combination of private spaces, French food, Champagne and river views makes Pompette particularly suited to birthdays, corporate gatherings and larger celebrations.
