Jan Murphy Gallery

Jan Murphy Gallery is a Fortitude Valley art gallery presenting a changing programme of exhibitions and a broad roster of featured artists. Its current listing is James Guppy’s Sculptures and birds, scheduled from 8 July to 4 August 2026, alongside Guido Maestri’s Arrangements, listed for 8 July to 1 August 2026. The programme gives visitors a chance to see different artists and approaches across successive exhibitions rather than a fixed collection.

The gallery’s artist list includes Celia Gullett, Jason Fitzgerald, Tim Price, Adam Pyett, Robert Malherbe, Richard Lewer, Natasha Bieniek, Mark Tweedie and Juz Kitson, among many others. Upcoming exhibitions include Gullett’s Spirit into matter and Fitzgerald’s Unearthed, both listed for 5 to 29 August 2026. The gallery also represents a group of protégés, including Sis Cowie, Archer Davies, Jacqueline Hennessy, Drew Connor Holland, India Mark, Laura Patterson, Tim Price, Louise Tate and Mark Tweedie.

Located at 486 Brunswick Street, the gallery welcomes visitors from 10am to 5pm Wednesday to Saturday, or by appointment. Director Jan Murphy leads a team including Glenn Manson, Milena Stojanovska and Rachael Bartram. With exhibitions changing throughout the year and an enquiry service available, it is suited to people following Australian artists, planning a focused gallery visit or exploring Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley art scene independently.
