Hemmant Quarry Reserve

Hemmant Quarry Reserve is a natural bushland destination in Wynnum, Brisbane, and one of the places Council identifies for seeing koalas in the wild. It offers the chance to spend time in a natural setting, look for native wildlife and enjoy Brisbane’s local bushland.

The reserve sits within Brisbane’s wider network of natural areas, which support diverse native plants and animals. Council suggests looking into the forks of eucalyptus trees, where koalas may rest, and checking for droppings around the base of trees as a possible sign of nearby koalas.

Council advises following park signage, staying on authorised and existing tracks, and taking rubbish home or using a bin.
