Why it's worth checking out

Function Well West End is a large fitness and wellness hub in the West Village Shopping Precinct on Mollison Street, bringing training, group exercise, recovery and social spaces together under one roof. The venue spans four levels and includes five purpose-built studios, a 24/7 gym floor, a nutrient-focused café and a business and social lounge, making it suited to people who want more than a traditional weights-and-cardio setup.

The gym floor covers 1,000 square metres and includes 12 squat racks, a 25-metre turf track, a glute-focused equipment range and equipment from GYM80, AlphaFit and Eleiko. Group classes are programmed for different fitness levels and include strength and conditioning, high-intensity training, yoga, Reformer Pilates, Hot Mat Pilates, MetCon and RunFIT. There is also a Pilates on Demand option for members who prefer a virtual reformer session.

Recovery is a major part of the West End offering. The Restoration Zone includes infrared saunas, an ice shower, hot magnesium and cold plunges, a steam room, Finnish, traditional and infrared saunas, a recovery cave, red light therapy and compression boots. Massage therapy and contrast therapy are also listed among the services. These facilities give members options for winding down after training, supporting recovery or simply taking time away from the gym floor.

The venue’s broader philosophy is built around four pillars: mindset, nutrition, movement and restoration. That approach is reflected in the lounge, which has hot desks, shared tables and comfortable seating for work, meetings or catching up, as well as member-focused activities such as coffee sessions and a Business of the Month feature. Performance Coaches support the training side of the experience, while the venue presents itself as a welcoming community for people at different points in their fitness journey. It could suit solo members wanting structured classes and recovery facilities, as well as friends or colleagues looking for a shared training and social space.

Spot Score

55

The Spot Score is our composite of five signals — two about the venue's standing with visitors and three about how complete and current this listing is. It is not a visitor rating and not a verdict on the food or the experience. The 4.6 from 50 reviews is Google's visitor rating, shown separately and never altered by us.
