Why it's worth checking out
Everton Park Hotel is a Brisbane north-side pub built around a broad mix of food, sport, family and social spaces. Its bistro serves Queensland pub classics alongside share plates and woodfired pizzas, with a dedicated kids menu and a DIY soft serve station with sauces and toppings. Guests can dine inside or settle into the beer garden for an alfresco meal, while the venue’s bar areas provide a more casual setting for drinks and catch-ups.
Sports fans have plenty to keep them occupied in the Sports Bar and Deck, where large screens show live sport alongside pool tables, air hockey and ping pong. The beer garden adds a more open, relaxed atmosphere, with its own bar, festoon lighting, picnic-style seating and access to a children’s play area. That combination makes the hotel particularly suited to family outings, group catch-ups and casual gatherings where not everyone wants the same pace.
The venue also caters for celebrations and organised events, with spaces across the bistro, Sports Bar Deck, courtyard, terrace, lawn and beer garden. There is a dedicated kids’ function room for children’s parties, while the broader function offering can be tailored to occasions including birthdays, private dinners, corporate events, meetings and weddings. The hotel is also set up for live-sport gatherings and more informal group celebrations.
There is a long local story behind the newer fit-out. The hotel was established in 1975 and was originally owned by John Tucker, who helped develop the surrounding community through a general store and post office. Later owner Ken Talbot introduced a carousel and children’s playground, helping establish the venue as a family destination. A three-stage renovation has since added the bistro, sports bar, gaming room, outdoor dining areas, beer garden and 13 motel-style accommodation rooms. For locals around Chermside and Everton Park, it offers a sizeable pub setting with options for a family meal, a sports-focused visit, a function or an overnight stay.
