Why it's worth checking out
Soak Bathhouse – West End is a rooftop communal bathhouse at Level 2 of The Eaves at West Village, overlooking West End, South Brisbane and the Brisbane skyline. Its facilities include magnesium hot pools, warm pools, cold plunge pools, dry cedarwood saunas, aromatic steam rooms and infrared saunas. The outdoor hot tubs are open to the sky, while parts of the rooftop have coverage. The setting gives the experience a distinct Brisbane feel, particularly in the evening when the city lights come into view.
A typical visit is built around moving between hot and cold facilities, with the magnesium hot pools kept at 38°C, warm pools at 34°C and cold plunges at 12.5°C. Guests can use individual change cubicles, showers and toilets within the unisex communal amenities. Private experiences, including massage, LED facials and meditation, are also available to book in advance, subject to availability. Bookings are essential, so it is worth arranging a session before arriving, especially for weekends.
Wednesday evenings bring Soak & Sound, a live music session running from 5pm to 8pm. Local musicians perform on the rooftop, and the session is included with Soak or Soak & Sip bookings made during that period. It offers a more social way to use the space while still keeping the focus on unwinding. The bathhouse can suit solo visitors, visits with a friend or small groups, and the venue also accepts corporate wellness and group bookings.
Soak Bathhouse was founded by Gold Coast locals and husband-and-wife team Niki and Alexis Dean. Their idea grew from wanting wellness experiences that were easier to fit into everyday life and more accessible than occasional health retreats. That philosophy carries through in the West End venue, which is designed for guests to come alone or socially, relax after their session and take time away from their usual routine. The bathhouse is within the West Village precinct, close to cafés and restaurants, with two hours of free parking available in the Woolworths/Harris Farm car park via Mollison Street. It is open from 6.30am daily, closing at 10pm Monday to Thursday and midnight from Friday to Sunday.
