Why it's worth checking out
Happy Valley Brewing Company is a northside brewery and taproom at 34 Wolverhampton Street, Stafford, Brisbane, with 19 rotating taps designed to give regulars something different from one visit to the next. The brewery highlights its 50K IPA as the 2026 Grand Champion, while visitors who are not beer drinkers can choose from a wine list, wine and spirits, or the drinks kept in the fridge.
The venue has an informal, distinctive feel shaped by its industrial Stafford setting, eclectic furniture sourced from a former Outback Jacks and murals created for the brewery. A giant timber grasshopper hangs from the roof, adding another unusual detail to the space. The brewery describes itself as family friendly, making it suitable for casual visits with children as well as catch-ups over a drink.
Happy Valley grew out of founder Cheyne’s home-brewing hobby and opened in 2020, navigating the challenges of lockdowns, approvals and launching a hospitality business during the pandemic. That background remains part of the venue’s identity, alongside its focus on experimentation, rotating beer and a close North Brisbane community.
The taproom also hosts events including Thursday trivia and Sunday live music. Its kitchen operates at selected times from Thursday to Sunday, although the website does not currently list specific dishes. With changing beers, regular events and options beyond beer, it suits groups, families and anyone keen to try a locally made brew in a relaxed taproom setting.
