Why it's worth checking out

Byblós Brisbane brings Lebanese dining and a riverside bar to Portside Wharf in Hamilton. The restaurant has returned to its waterfront location with a new look and a menu shaped by culinary influences and additions from Lebanon. Its setting and share-focused approach make it a natural choice for relaxed long lunches, dinners with friends, or family gatherings.

The menu is built around mezat, grills, large plates, salads, sides and desserts. Cold mezat includes Hommous, Muhammara, Baba Ganoush, Labneh Bi Zeit and Vine Leaves, while the hot selection covers dishes such as Falafel, Traditional Kibbeh, Pumpkin Kibbeh, Samak Harra and Shish Barak. These options offer a broad introduction to Lebanese flavours, from chickpea and eggplant dips to spiced pastries, seafood and hand-rolled dumplings.

For the grill, there is marinated chicken in Shish Tawook, lamb in Lahim Meshwi, Lamb Kafta, Wagyu Skewers, butterflied quail, swordfish and vegetable-and-halloumi skewers. Larger dishes include Sayadieh, featuring grilled barramundi with spiced rice and a rich jus, and Slow Cooked Lamb Shoulder with Lebanese lamb rice, mixed fruit and nuts. Sides such as Tabouleh, Fattoush, Batata Harra and Spiced Cauliflower add plenty of choice for sharing across the table.

Desserts continue the Lebanese influence with Kataifi Ashta, assorted Byblos Helwayet and a baklava cheesecake, while the cocktail list includes drinks made with ingredients such as Lebanese coffee, arak, rose water, za’atar and orange blossom. With banquet-style dining specifically encouraged, Byblós suits groups wanting to share a substantial meal, as well as families looking for a waterfront lunch or dinner. The restaurant also provides vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options across the menu, although it notes that traces of allergens cannot be guaranteed.
