Bulimba Library

Bulimba Library is a community library on Oxford Street offering a place to read, study, meet or use practical services including free Wi-Fi, internet access, printing, photocopying and scanning. Its collection and resources include books, magazines, newspapers, CDs and DVDs, e-books and other digital resources, alongside information and reference services.

The library also has meeting rooms for community and business use. Meeting room 1 accommodates up to 35 people and includes a data projector, electronic whiteboard, lectern and free Wi-Fi, while meeting room 2 seats up to 12 and has a lectern and Wi-Fi. Not-for-profit and charity community use is free; commercial bookings attract listed fees, and bookings can be arranged by phone or through Council. An onsite car park is available, although it is locked after the library’s listed closing times and cannot be accessed after hours by meeting room users.

Families and individuals can make use of the baby change facility, breastfeeding-friendly setting, after-hours returns and broad library services. The venue has limited wheelchair access, while the meeting rooms are listed with wheelchair-accessible facilities. A significant upgrade is planned from July 2026 to late 2026, including refreshed lounge, study and quiet reading areas, improved entry and accessibility features, and upgraded building services. During the closure, a temporary library is planned at Bulimba Bowls Club in Balmoral.
