Art West Community Gallery

Art West Community Gallery is a free-entry gallery in Indooroopilly Central, above Spotlight at 34 Coonan Street. It showcases around 300 artworks by more than 140 members, with exhibitions changing approximately every six weeks. Every work on display is available to purchase, giving visitors the chance to browse local art and take home an original piece.

The gallery’s online shop extends that offering, featuring original work by Art West artists, including paintings and sculptures. Visitors can also check the current exhibition program, while artists can join the community to exhibit and sell their work, access exhibition and workshop rates, and connect with Brisbane’s visual arts community.

Art West began as a community gallery project in 2015, following an inaugural meeting at Kenmore library attended by 16 people. Its first group exhibition was held in June 2016, and the gallery moved to its Indooroopilly location at the end of 2023. It suits anyone interested in locally made art, whether you are browsing an exhibition, looking to buy an original work, or wanting to support a community of established and emerging artists. The gallery is open to the public, with entry free and visits available from 10am daily.
