Thomas Dixon Centre

Thomas Dixon Centre is a cultural precinct in West End and the home of Queensland Ballet, combining performance, dining, public art, history and event spaces in a former shoe factory. The 1908 red-brick building was designed by Brisbane architect Richard Gailey and retains details including large arched windows and expansive ceiling trusses. Its earlier life as a tannery and boot factory remains central to the story, linking the site’s industrial past with its present role in the arts.
