TAFE Queensland South Bank Fitness Centre is a practical gym in South Bank, Brisbane, with memberships available to the public as well as TAFE Queensland students, staff and staff families. New members can start with three complimentary introductory sessions, while memberships include an access card, a fitness assessment and a basic exercise program prepared with a student personal trainer under qualified staff supervision.
The equipment offering covers both strength and cardio training. Members have access to multiple deadlift platforms, benches and squat racks, along with pin- and plate-loaded machines. Cardio equipment includes stationary bikes, treadmills, rowers, an assault bike, a ski erg and elliptical machines. There is also a dedicated training area with battle ropes, a sled and tyres, plus lockers and shower facilities. Nutritional advice, free assessments and programs are also listed as part of the membership offering.
Group fitness is a significant part of the centre, with classes spanning strength, conditioning, endurance, mobility and technique. HIIT Fusion uses circuit-style exercises with body weight, free weights and core work, while Power Surge combines weighted strength exercises with cardio conditioning. EnduroFit focuses on muscle endurance, and Circuit brings together strength, endurance and cardio with little or no rest. Yoga, Pilates, Boxing Fitness, Boxing Bootcamp, Sweat and Power HIIT provide further options for different training preferences.
Personal training is available one-on-one for $7.50 per session, subject to trainer availability, with a six-week, 12-session pack also offered at limited times each term. Public memberships are listed at $21 per fortnight by direct debit, plus a one-off $12 administration fee; students, staff and staff family memberships are $19 per fortnight with the same fee. The centre also offers court hire for basketball, badminton and futsal, making it relevant to sporting groups as well as individual gym users. Opening hours are Monday to Friday from 6–9am and 12–8pm, and Saturday from 8–11am; it is closed on Sundays and public holidays. Free car parking is available after 4.30pm via Glenelg Street.
