Raven Street Reserve is a bushland escape in Chermside, Brisbane, forming part of the 129-hectare Chermside Hills Reserves network alongside Chermside Hills Reserve and Milne Hill Reserve. Its open eucalypt forests, woodland and dry rainforest provide a natural setting for bushwalking, birdwatching and time outdoors, while the wider reserve network connects into the Mountains to Mangroves Corridor between the D’Aguilar Ranges, Boondall Wetlands and Moreton Bay.
There are 11 walking tracks across the reserves, with easy and moderate options ranging from 350 metres to 1.7 kilometres. Raven Street Reserve also includes bikeways in its southern section, following Cabbage Tree Creek and parts of Little Cabbage Tree Creek. For a more accessible outing, the wheelchair-accessible Senses Trail offers a sensory-focused walk, while Spider Hill Outlook provides views towards Moreton Bay and the surrounding mountains. A track map is recommended for planning longer walks across all three reserves.
The Downfall Creek Bushland Centre is a standout feature at Raven Street Reserve. It offers information about local animal and plant life, as well as environmental and cultural displays and free native plants. Next to the centre are sheltered picnic tables, electric barbecues and a playground, making this a practical option for family visits and relaxed outdoor gatherings. Across the reserves, visitors can also find toilets, barbecues, boardwalks and a viewing deck with panoramic views.
The reserve suits a wide range of visits, from a quiet solo walk or a morning of wildlife spotting to a picnic with friends or family. The area supports more than 200 native plant species and is home to wildlife including wallabies, gliders, possums, water dragons, frogs, reptiles and a variety of birds. Leashed dogs are allowed, provided owners clean up after them; an off-leash dog park is located near Milne Hill Reserve. Raven Street Reserve is accessed from Rode Road, with parking at the Downfall Creek Bushland Centre, and is listed as open 24 hours. Visitors should carry water, follow designated tracks and avoid muddy or flooded paths.
