Giwadha Track

Giwadha Track is part of the Chermside Hills Reserves, a 129-hectare network of bushland areas in Brisbane’s north. The surrounding reserves include open eucalypt forest, woodland and dry rainforest, offering a natural setting for walking, birdwatching and a quiet break outdoors.

The wider reserve network has 11 walking tracks, with easy and moderate options ranging from 350 metres to 1.7 kilometres. Visitors can use the track map to plan a route across Chermside Hills Reserve, Raven Street Reserve and Milne Hill Reserve, with highlights including the views from Spider Hill Outlook and the wheelchair-accessible Senses Trail. The area is also home to native wildlife such as wallabies, gliders, possums, water dragons, frogs and a variety of birds.

Facilities across the reserves include toilets, barbecues, boardwalks, a playground and a viewing deck. At Raven Street Reserve, the Downfall Creek Bushland Centre provides information about local plants and animals, along with environmental and cultural displays, nature-based programs, picnic tables and electric barbecues. Leashed dogs are permitted in the reserves, while off-leash play is available at the dog park near Milne Hill Reserve.

Access is available from Trouts Road, Rode Road or Hamilton Road, depending on which reserve you are visiting, with parking at the entrances and at the Downfall Creek Bushland Centre. Bring water and a track map, stay on designated trails and avoid muddy or flooded sections. Repair works are scheduled to close Giwadha Track from late April to mid-May 2026, so check the latest update and use alternate tracks during that period.
