Downfall Creek Bushland Centre

Downfall Creek Bushland Centre is a nature-focused venue in Chermside, Brisbane, set within a peaceful bushland escape with walking tracks, wildlife and environmental education. It offers an easy way to spend time outdoors while learning more about Brisbane’s flora and fauna.

The centre is part of Brisbane City Council’s network of purpose-built environment centres. Activities across the network include guided walks, Bush Kindy, nature journalling, workshops, and fitness and wellness sessions. Visitors can also explore with the free Agents of Discovery mobile game, designed to get children active and engaged while they investigate the natural environment.

Families are well suited to the centre’s hands-on activities, while school groups can book curriculum-aligned learning programs covering environmental topics and sustainability. Council Education Officers use games, art, role-play, scientific investigations and guided walks to help students understand bushland, wetlands and waterways. Free online resources and the Creek Neighbours program also extend the centre’s environmental learning beyond the site.
