Cobbler

Cobbler is a whisky and cocktail bar at 7 Browning Street in West End, Brisbane, built around a long-running interest in malted spirits and thoughtful drinks. Founded in early 2013, the venue describes itself as Queensland’s first bar of its kind at the time, with a focus that extends across Scotch, Bourbon, Japanese, Irish, Australian, Indian, Taiwanese and American single malt whisky. Its broader spirits collection is used in cocktails as well as served for guests who want to explore whisky in a more direct way.

The bar’s approach is centred on enjoyment, sharing and education, with the team continuing to look for new whisky releases and creative ways to mix them. One of the venue’s more distinctive recurring ideas is Margarita Mondays, a West End tradition revived by Cobbler owner Martin Lange after the closure of Sling Lounge. Cobbler says its margaritas are made with fresh lime juice and 100% agave tequila. Cobbler has also been recognised by The Bartender Magazine Bar Awards, winning Best Small Bar of Australia in 2016 and Best Bar in Queensland in 2017. The venue accepts table requests and is open from 5pm to 1am on Mondays, and from 4pm to 1am Tuesday to Sunday.
