Why it's worth checking out
Brisbane Brewing Co. Woolloongabba brings together craft beer, pub food and several distinct spaces at its 601 Stanley Street venue. Set in a heritage building dating from 1869, it includes a sports bar, restaurant area and leafy beer garden, with copper details and outdoor lights adding character. It is a practical choice for watching sport, meeting friends for a meal or settling in for a longer drink, with a gaming room and on-site bottle shop also available.
The drinks list extends beyond the brewery’s own beers. The venue serves seasonal brews, selected larger-brand beers, wine, cocktails, hard lemonade and ginger beer, as well as spirits from its Reservoir range. Its four core beers are also sold in 375ml cans to take home. For diners, the kitchen serves a broad pub-style menu, including share plates, salads, vegan dishes, steaks, burgers, schnitzels, parmys, fish and chips, desserts and a children’s menu. The kitchen is listed as open daily from 11am to 9pm, without a break between lunch and dinner.
Standout options named on the Woolloongabba menu include birria sliders, double-fried wings brined in the venue’s lager, the Angus Jack Burger, plant-based burgers, a 250g rump steak, beer-battered fish and chips, and the house-made Pie of the Day. There are also weekday lunch specials, including a Wagyu Brewer’s Steak, chicken schnitzel and birria beef nachos. Menus can change, so the current selection is worth checking before visiting.
The venue caters well for different group sizes and occasions. Its larger Woolloongabba space can host functions for up to 100 guests, with food, beer, wine and cocktails available through tailored event arrangements. A kids menu makes it suitable for family meals, while the combination of a sports bar, restaurant and beer garden gives groups flexibility. It is also accessible from South Bank by a walk of about 10 minutes, with limited customer parking via Annerley Road and paid parking options nearby.
