Why it's worth checking out
Ovolo Brisbane, Fortitude Valley is a boutique hotel built around art, music and the character of the Valley. Its location places guests close to Brisbane’s live music venues, rooftop bars, galleries and local cafés, while New Farm, Brisbane Powerhouse, the Brisbane River, South Bank and the CBD are described as being within easy reach. It makes a practical base for exploring the city without sitting in a conventional business-hotel setting.
The hotel’s design is deliberately expressive, with original artworks, bold colour and unexpected details throughout the property. Shared spaces include a rooftop pool with city views, a rooftop bar, a gym, self-service laundry and high-speed Wi-Fi. A sauna is also available offsite at First Light Active. The hotel promotes flexible check-in and check-out, in-room WonderBar facilities and its Ovolo Standard for direct bookings, which includes flexible cancellation options and a complimentary welcome drink during Apero Hour, subject to the relevant booking terms.
Accommodation ranges from 27-square-metre Medium rooms with queen beds to 40-square-metre Large rooms with a chaise and designer details. The Large Spa Rooms add a private spa bath, while the 48-square-metre Valley Suites have king beds, private balconies and top-floor views. For something more theatrical, the 76-square-metre Rock Star Suites include a private bar, separate lounge, record player and standalone tub. The range gives solo travellers, couples and guests seeking a more distinctive stay several room styles to consider.
For an evening on site, Kazba is a cocktail bar with a Tel Aviv-inspired atmosphere, Middle Eastern-influenced drinks and late-night vegetarian food prepared using charcoal and woodfire. The hotel also caters for private functions, meetings and celebrations across spaces including The Grand Games Room, The Grand Hall, Poolside, The Harem, The Library, The Games Room, B.I.G and Backroom. Capacities vary by room, with the largest listed Brisbane space accommodating up to 110 people. Ovolo’s Brisbane property is therefore suited not only to independent stays, but also to small gatherings, business events and larger celebrations. It operates in partnership with Wyndham Hotels and Resorts and acknowledges the Turrbal people as Traditional Owners of the Country on which it is located.
