Why it's worth checking out
BrewDog DogTap Brisbane is BrewDog Australia’s brewery taproom in Hamilton, set beside the Brisbane River beneath the bridge. Its central draw is the 28-tap beer selection, with fresh craft beer brewed only metres away at the Queensland brewery. The venue also serves wine, spirits, cocktails, cider and Brown Snake ginger beer, giving non-beer drinkers plenty of choice alongside the tap list.
The food offering is broad and built for casual group dining, with burgers, pizzas, wings, tacos and big-bowl salads making up the main menu. The venue says around one-third of its food range caters to gluten-free, vegan and vegetarian diners. Its Wednesday wings experience includes both chicken and cauliflower wings, with a choice of eight sauces and rubs ranging from sweet and savoury to spicy. Regular specials also include pizza on Mondays, parmies and a pint on Thursdays, steak on Fridays and Sunday roasts, although the current schedule is worth checking before visiting.
There is more to the space than eating and drinking. DogTap has a riverside patio, outdoor tables and a beer garden, along with TVs for watching sport, arcade and pinball machines, a photobooth and a playground. The venue describes itself as a large 500-seat space, giving it room for everything from a relaxed drink to bigger gatherings. Its function menu includes wing platters, slider boards, canapes, charcuterie and cheese boards, with group bookings recommended for parties of 10 or more.
Families are well catered for through a dedicated kids menu, playground and arcade games, while dogs are welcome outdoors when seated on the patio. The venue also lists baby-changing facilities and disabled access. That combination makes it a practical option for family meals, casual catch-ups and celebrations, while the beer selection, sport and games give groups plenty to do after dinner. For those arriving alone, the taproom’s beer-focused setup and varied food menu also suit a straightforward drink or meal without needing a special occasion.
