We are encouraged to discover it, express it, defend it, and even build our lives around it. But is identity something fundamental to who we are, or have we elevated it to a place of greater importance than it deserves? As identity becomes increasingly central to modern culture, it's worth asking whether this focus helps us flourish or simply encourages division and self-absorption. At this Brisbane meetup, we'll explore the nature of identity, why it matters so deeply to us, and whether modern society places too much emphasis on defining ourselves. The questions we will address are: 1. **Is identity discovered or created?** 2. **Should people be defined by what they are or by what they do?** 3. **Has modern society made identity too important?** This event will be held at The Waterloo Hotel.
